Beccy Benedict's Curatorial Choice

Leicester has such talented artists'. I am so proud to have won the L.O.V.E  Art Prize last year.  My curatorial choices from the 2020 exhibition are: (click the work to go to the artist's website/social media)

Determination by Hannah Webber

This work really caught my eye, I felt drawn in by the layers and the depth they gave to the piece - a depth much like that of determination.

Autumn Leaves Revisited by Kate Robotham

I felt immediately transported by this piece to autumn walks with my dog. The colours and reflective light are superb. A piece I would happily have up in my own home.

Faces in the Forest by Indre Rimselyte

This work does something to my heart. The more I stare at it the more I am both drawn in but also feel somewhat anxious. Amazing colours and technique.

Treescars by Pamela Clarkson

Before I saw the title of this work I was already transported to woodland. The colours and the combination make a well conceived statement.

Oh Rats by Megan J Sawbridge

I love work that I know would grab my attention even across a crowded room and this is one of those. Since I was very young I have always preferred abstract work as I enjoy what it leaves to my imagination.
